Xanga is frustrating me lately. It feels like no one reads my blog there. So let's see what happens if I move here more exclusively.
Dave and I had a busy weekend. After working all day on Saturday, we went to Andy and Elizabeth's going away party. They're moving to Chicago at the beginning of June. Very sad. The party was hosted by their friends Michelle and Lou, who are married with a toddler, Oliver, and pregnant with a girl who is due in July. All of the guests were very cool. Dave and I were younger than everyone by about 5 years, and most everyone was married and/or had kids, but it didn't seem to matter. Andy and Elizabeth have been dating for 11 years and aren't even engaged yet, so we didn't get the usual pressure, "You guys aren't engaged yet?" from anyone. We didn't stay that late, just through dinner (grilled burgers and pork chops). Hopefully we'll get to hang out with A & E again before they leave. And although it's a bummer that they won't be in Lincoln anymore, now we'll know someone in Chicago. Elizabeth gave us an open invitation to come stay with them, so we'll definitely have to take them up on it!
Sunday, we drove to Omaha. We met my old friends from high school Sarah and David for lunch at the Dundee Dell, then went on a short walk together. We did the best we could to catch up in those couple of hours...S & D only come home to NE a couple times a year anymore (I'll never understand how they can stay away from "The Good Life" for so long!). Then it was over to my parents' house for a cookout/birthday party for Dave. My parents gave him season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, which we then left with them so they can watch it, hehe. Only after watching 6 episodes with them, though! I can't wait until they catch up with the current episodes so I can talk to them about it without giving away spoilers.
I got stuck working Memorial Day tonight. Particularly uncool since Dave has the day off, but at least I get paid time and a half. And they gave me Friday off instead, as a paid holiday day. So I'm not complaining too much. Friday is when Sex and the City: The Movie comes out, so now I'll be paid to go see it instead of working the closing shift! So I think I'm going to go play Wii with my honey until it's time to get ready.
A plus, mes amis.
