Storm, sun, and books

So did everyone hear about the crazy storm in Omaha yesterday?  Check out Omaha.com; there are still some pictures posted, which are pretty amazing.  My parents were without power for about 12 hours.  Nothing happened here in Lincoln!  Passed us by completely.

I wish I didn't have to work Saturdays.  Everyone kept talking about how absolutely beautiful it is outside today.  Well, if I'm being honest, I suppose I wouldn't have actually done anything outside to take advantage of the weather if I hadn't had to work.  I would have slept til noon and read all day, curled up under a blanket on the couch with the a/c on, hehe.

Speaking of reading (because books are like, my favorite topic)...I have been doing almost nothing but reading this week!  I have read 6 books cover-to-cover since Sunday!  I wrote on Tuesday that I had started Waiting for Normal that morning; I finished it that night, and then started and finished Anastasia Krupnik afterwards.  I started Lock and Key on Wednesday and finished it on Thursday, then I read Totally Joe yesterday.  (Again, all those links are to the works' pages on librarything.com—are you on that site yet??)  This morning, I started Gone, by Michael Grant, which I got as an advance reading copy (ARC) from work.  I'm not too far into it, but it's pretty creepy so far.  Dave showed interest in it, too, so he'll probably read it when I'm done, when he's done at HuHot.

WHICH IS IN THREE DAYS!!!

(Have I mentioned before how excited I am for him to be done working there??)

I'm still pretty sunburned.  It sucks.  The worst is when I'm at work.  I swear, bras become torture devices when you have a sunburn!!  There's just no way to get comfortable.  I'm just at the itchy stage, too.  Ugh.

Tonight, I'm going to a concert with my girl Liz.  An old friend of hers is a singer (kinda folksy), and he's performing at a coffee shop tonight.  Here's his myspace for a listen.  Should be fun!

That's all for now.  Back to my books.  ;)
